Job summary

UNC Health's Medical Center Float Pool seeks a Clinical Nurse for per diem shifts across Chapel Hill and North Carolina clinics, with assignments varying by clinic needs and locations both on campus and off campus.

You will deliver competent clinical nursing care, coordinate patient care using the nursing process, and report to the Nurse Manager/Director while supporting interdepartmental collaboration and ongoing learning.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina with BLS for Healthcare Providers.
• One year of relevant and current nursing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Education: participate in learning needs and patient education materials as needed.
• Evaluation of Care: identify expected patient outcomes and coordinate with the inter-disciplinary team.
• Implementation: provide competent care for patients with complex needs and follow policy standards.
• Leadership: support unit goals, promote collaboration, and ensure safe care delivery.
• Patient Assessment: synthesize data and plan care with patient/family input.
• Planning: update plans with multidisciplinary resources and cultural considerations.
• Research: review journals and bring applicable ideas to staff discussion.
