Job summary

UNC Health in Chapel Hill, NC is seeking per diem registered nurses for the Medical Center Float Pool, covering outpatient and procedural areas across multiple clinics. This role requires commuting to Chapel Hill, Raleigh, Cary, Durham and Hillsborough.

Per diem positions pay flat hourly rates; there are no PTO, FMLA, or health insurance benefits. Candidates should be able to work at least four 8-hour shifts per month and be available for at least one Monday and one Friday per month, with up to

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards.
• Reporting to Nurse Manager/Director, coordinates and delivers patient care.
• Participates in education to meet learning needs and professional development.
• Identifies outcomes and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to evaluate care.
• Demonstrates competence in care for patients with complex problems and prioritizes tasks.
• Utilizes standards and policies in delivery of care and ensures safe environment.
• Participates in planning, coordination, and discharge planning with multidisciplinary resources.
