Job summary

UNC Health Care in Chapel Hill is seeking a per diem Registered Nurse for the Medical Center Float Pool, covering outpatient and procedural areas. You must be willing to commute to Chapel Hill, Raleigh, Cary, Durham, and Hillsborough for shifts and work both on campus and at off-campus clinics.

The ideal candidate has critical care, emergency department, VIR, conscious sedation and/or pre/post/intra op experience, with ACLS within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina (NC).
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent nursing care in acute hospital settings per professional standards.
• Coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process.
• Educate patients and families; participate in interdisciplinary team discussions.
• Assist in planning and prioritizing care with attention to cultural needs and safety.
• Perform bedside point-of-care testing as part of the care plan.
• Maintain documentation and follow policies and procedures; ensure continuity of care.
