Job summary

HCA Healthcare Colleton Hospital in South Carolina is seeking a Float Pool Registered Nurse to collaborate with the patient, family and health care team to assess, plan, implement and coordinate a comprehensive treatment plan, achieving goals across nursing departments.

You will maintain accountability for assigned patients, respond to Code Blue, manage patient flow, educate patients and families, and keep accurate records.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing (ADN or higher)
• Licensed as an RN in the state of practice or holds an active compact/multi-state RN license
• Current BLS Health Care Provider certification from AHA or Red Cross
• Minimum of two (2) years full-time equivalent Acute Care RN experience

Responsibilities

• Maintain accountability for assigned patients
• Respond to Code Blue and initiate protocol and cardiac monitoring
• Manage patient flow including exam prep, general nursing care, testing and admissions
• Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions
• Maintain and review patients' records including tests and results
• Administer medications per physician orders
• Check rooms daily for supplies
• Answer and triage telephone calls as needed
