Job summary

Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles, WA, is seeking a registered nurse to provide and ensure quality nursing care to Imaging Services patients. As a PICC team member, you will identify needs, plan interventions and document outcomes while working independently within established policies and standards.

The role requires an Associate degree in nursing (BSN preferred), a Washington RN license, and two years of hospital nursing experience.

Qualifications

  • Two years hospital nursing experience.
  • Radiology, IV team, PICC team, pediatrics, critical care and/or emergency experience preferred.
  • Documented expertise with IV therapy responsibilities (including central venous device management) during previous two years.
  • PICC line placement experience preferred.
  • Pediatric and adult straight catheter procedures knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and ensure quality nursing care to the patients of Imaging Services.
  • Use the nursing process to identify needs, plan interventions and evaluate outcomes.
  • Work independently within policies, procedures and practice standards; coordinate with PICC/DI teams and leadership.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians and staff.

The staff nurse uses the nursing process to 1) identify needs, 2) plan and implement appropriate interventions and 3) document and evaluate patient care outcomes. As a member of the PICC team, this is a professional level position requiring the ability to work independently within the parameters of applicable policies, procedures and practice standards. Strong interpersonal skills are essential to meet service expectations and effectively communicate with other members of the PICC team, Diagnostic Imaging (DI) staff and leadership, hospital nursing staff, nursing administration, physician staff, patients and family members. Internal contacts include patient care staff and management. External contacts include patients, families, physicians, and outside facilities.EDUCATION Associate degree in nursing required. BSN preferred.EXPERIENCETwo years hospital nursing experience.
