Job summary

Doctors Hospital of Augusta is seeking a Float Pool Patient Care Technician to join our nursing team. You will assist Registered Nurses with daily patient care, vital signs, mobility, and personal care, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for patients.

The role emphasizes teamwork, infection control, and compassionate care as you support RNs in care plans and patient comfort. CNA/PCT experience and BLS certification are preferred or must be obtained within 30 days of start date.

Qualifications

• 1 year of CNA or PCT experience in a hospital setting required.
• CNA certification preferred.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support smooth care and recovery.
• Providing non-medicated care such as dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices.
• Keeping patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency.
• Managing supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
• Communicating kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality.
