Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
• Prior patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in direct patient care with basic physical care under the RN.
• Assists with activities of daily living and bed making in a timely manner.
• Safely transports patients to tests and discharges per policy.
• Transports specimens and items throughout the facility.
• Performs routine glucose monitoring, urine and stool testing where allowed.
• Performs routine phlebotomy services excluding line draws.
• Records vital signs and weight; observes changes and reports to RN.
• Provides respiratory support and encourages incentive spirometry.
• Assists with examinations and procedures as directed.
• Maintains clean, safe environment to prevent infections.
• Keeps equipment clean and reports repairs promptly.
