Job summary

Doctors Hospital of Augusta is seeking a Float Pool - Med/Surg RN to influence patient care through collaborative relationships with leadership and participation in hospital councils and nursing initiatives. You will help shape decisions that improve patient outcomes and advance the nursing profession.

The RN will coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with medical providers, using established nursing models.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse (ADN or BSN)
• At least 2 years of medical-surgical experience in a hospital setting
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 30 days of start

Responsibilities

• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents care in the patient record.
• Teaches patients and families about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures.
• Educates patients and families on follow-up measures, diet, exercise, disease prevention, and self-management.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team to coordinate and deliver holistic patient treatment plans.
• Contributes to quality improvement initiatives to meet and exceed care quality measures.
