Job summary

Phelps Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct patient care using the nursing process and adhere to the ANA Code of Ethics within its hospital setting.

You will perform medication administration, ongoing patient assessments, and collaborate with RNs and the health care team to ensure safe, quality care. A Missouri LPN license and BLS are required; one year of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited practical school of nursing.
• One year experience preferred.
• Current Missouri LPN license (or Compact Licensure); BLS certification must be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Follows hospital policy on patient safety, infection prevention, and safe patient handling to provide safe patient care.
• Provides nursing care including administration of medications, nursing interventions, and patient and family teaching.
• Performs ongoing assessments, monitors patient status, and collaborates with the supervising RN or Shift Manager.
• Documents patient care activities to meet quality measures and support clinical decision making.
• Communicates patient information to physicians and team members to improve outcomes.
• Educates patients and families to support health care outcomes.
• Demonstrates ongoing professional development through continuing education.
