The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct patient care using the nursing process, demonstrating clinical competence relevant to the area of nursing

Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited practical school of nursing.
One year experience preferred.
Current LPN license in Missouri or Compact Licensure; GPN must obtain license within 90 days of graduation.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

Follows hospital policies on patient safety to provide care in a safe environment.
Provides quality nursing care including administration of medications and patient/family teaching.
Performs assessments to monitor patient status and support clinical decision making.
Communicates patient information to physicians and team members to improve outcomes.
Delivers care under supervision and supports teamwork and accountability.
