Job summary

GI Associates is seeking a dedicated GI Tech to support RN assessments and assist in pre- and post-procedure workflows across our gastroenterology practice in southeastern Wisconsin. You will set up equipment, handle scopes, perform high‑level disinfection per OSHA guidelines, maintain logs, and help with room turnover and patient transport.

Requirements include a High School Diploma, BLS certification, at least 1 year of GI Tech experience, and willingness to travel to other GI Associates

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of GI Tech experience.
  • Willingness to travel to other GI Associates locations in southeastern WI.

Responsibilities

  • Set up equipment pre-procedure.
  • Assist with post-procedure process under RN supervision.
  • Disinfect and maintain endoscopic equipment per OSHA guidelines.
  • Maintain logs for high-level disinfection process.
  • Assist with room turnover and supplies.

The GI Technician is responsible for assisting in the collection of data for an objective assessment by the RN to identify the patient’s needs, problems, concerns or human responses. This position maintains responsibility for the scopes, and disinfecting instrumentation, pathology log, and collating post procedure information.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesResponsible for setting up equipment pre-procedureHelps with post procedure process for patients under the supervision of RNKnowledgeable of proper handling of equipment and materials (scopes, light sources, and ancillary equipment)Transports used equipment post-procedure to the reprocessing roomCleans equipment in conjunction with the OSHA guidelinesHelps maintain appropriate records/logs for the high-level disinfecting process of endoscopic equipmentMaintains adequate supply of chemicals and equipment for equipment reprocessingAssists with room turn around/setup/cleaning of procedure rooms to optimize room efficiencyAssists in maintaining room stock/suppliesTransports patients as directedPromotes an environment that is patient and employee friendlyMaintains high level of confidentiality pertaining to the patients right to privacyWorking collaboratively with GIA members to optimize patient care and be influential in maintaining a healthy team environmentEager and willingness to learn and grow in the knowledge of GI Anatomy and Physiology, DiseaseComplete all medical documentation efficiently in a timely mannerRecognize and respond to emergency care needs as per policyMaintains safe work environmentMinimum requirementsPractice-based learning and improvement, empathy, and clinical judgementHigh School DiplomaBLS CertificationMinimum 1 year of GI Tech experienceWillingness and ability to travel to other GI Associates locations as needed to support operational needs throughout southeastern WI.E04JI80004vh409abr7
