Job summary

Labcorp in Princeton, WV is seeking a Phlebotomist Float to join our team. The role involves venipuncture and capillary draws for diverse age groups, specimen collection for tests, data entry, and some billing-related tasks.

Schedule is Monday–Friday with variable hours and rotating Saturdays. Travel to additional sites may be required; driving is expected and required to support coverage across locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• One year or more of phlebotomy experience.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency.
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team; adaptable to supervision.
• Color blindness test requires passing.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Job description

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist Float to join our team in Princeton, WV.

Work Schedule: Monday‑Friday, scheduled hours vary between 7:30am‑5:00pm and rotating Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information accurately and timely.
• Process billing information and collect payments when necessary.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year or more of phlebotomy experience.

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency.
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record with reliable transportation.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

• Employees scheduled less than 20 hours, casual, intern, and temporary employees receive only the 401(k) plan.

Incentives

• Float Incentive: Additional $1.00 per hour plus mileage reimbursement.
• Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.
