Job Overview

LabCorp is seeking a Float Phlebotomist to join our team in Austin, TX. The position requires working Monday‑Friday with varying hours from 7:00am to 7:00pm, with potential overtime and rotating weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Enter patient information accurately and timely.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Perform necessary administrative and clerical duties.
• Travel to various clinic sites.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 2 years of phlebotomy experience in a clinical or hospital environment.
• At least 1 year of experience assisting patients of all age groups (pediatric to geriatric).
• Current or prior LabCorp experience.

Additional Job Standards

• Cover sites in Austin, TX and surrounding areas (up to 75miles).
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
• Pass a standardized color‑blindness test.
• Be 21years of age or older with a clean driving record.
• Have reliable transportation.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Deliver exceptional customer service.
• Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Work independently or as part of a team.
• Work well under minimal supervision.

Compensation & Incentives

Float incentive: $1.00 per hour plus mileage reimbursement. Phlebotomists may be eligible for the Phlebotomy Incentive Plan, which offers a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.
