Job summary

Genoa Healthcare, part of Optum, seeks a Float Pharmacist to provide professional pharmacy services across our Rhode Island pharmacies. The role is onsite, with duties including dispensing, patient counseling, and immunization administration where permitted by state law.

The position supports a collaborative care team focused on quality service and regulatory compliance. Requirements include a PharmD or Bachelor’s in Pharmacy, Rhode Island license, and immunization certification or willingness

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or PharmD is required.
• Current pharmacist license in Rhode Island.
• Certified immunizer or willing to become one within three months of hire.
• Access to reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Distributes drugs prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners.
• Provides information to customers about medications and their use.
• Focuses on providing a superior level of customer service.
• Ensures compliance with all relevant laws of the Rhode Island State Board of Pharmacy.
• Administration of immunizations as allowed by State Boards of Pharmacy.
• Handles other usual and customary pharmacy duties.
