Float Patient Access Representative (PRN)

Job Overview

The primary purpose of this role is to accurately register all patients presenting to Western Missouri Medical Center for clinical testing, verify accounts, and support WMMC clinics as needed.

Responsibilities

1. Perform registration duties as requested.
2. Obtain correct patient demographic and insurance information.
3. Determine benefits, co-pays, and deductibles.
4. Collect and enter accurate MSP information for Medicare patients.
5. Demonstrate competency with equipment, utilizing supplies and equipment properly.
6. Promote professionalism through appropriate behaviors.
7. Work independently, meet deadlines, and make decisions based on relevant facts.
8. Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
9. Perform other essential duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Typing skills of 45+ WPM.
• Previous clerical experience.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to adhere to hospital/clinic policies and procedures.

Physical and Mental Requirements

• Ability to sit and stand for 8 to 10 hours a day.
• Use standard office equipment, including telephone and computer keyboard.
• Work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Manual/bi-manual dexterity, near vision, speech, and hearing.
• Frequently stand, walk, sit, and utilize eye/hand coordination and color recognition.
• Occasionally reach above shoulder; regularly lift/carry up to 40 lbs.
• Occasionally walk on uneven surfaces.
