Job summary

AMR is seeking a Float Paramedic to provide advanced medical care on 911 responses, using a defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and IV therapy. You will assess calls, lead scenes, and coordinate ambulance operations to ensure patient safety and timely transport.

Travel across shifts is required; you will work with public safety personnel and engage with the community to maintain AMR’s image and trust.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Paramedic certifications for Kansas and Missouri required.
• Valid State Driver’s License is required.
• BLS and ACLS are required upon hire.
• PALS is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assess each call situation and determine best course of action.
• Utilize paramedic skills with defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen, suction and IV fluids.
• Communicate with patients and families to provide information and reassurance.
• Act as Paramedic team leader for scene and unit management as needed.
• Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
• Collaborate with allied health and public safety personnel.
• Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image and relationships.
