Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to float between Urgent Care locations in Lafayette and West Lafayette. The role involves rooming patients, taking vital signs, and supporting a smooth patient flow throughout 12-hour shifts.

Certification as a CMA/CCMA/RMA/NCMA/CMAC is required. Ideal candidates have prior MA experience and a strong knowledge of EMR systems, ICD-10/CPT coding, and front-office responsibilities.

Qualifications

• AHA Basic Life Support for healthcare workers certification required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; graduation from a Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Current CMA/CCMA/RMA/NCMA/CMAC certification(s) preferred or required as noted.
• Knowledge of OSHA, CLIA, and ADA.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
• TB validation or within 6 months of hire preferred.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vital signs.
• Contribute to a positive patient experience through clear communication and addressing patient needs.
• Perform registration and scheduling activities and assist with front-office tasks as needed.
