Inova Cares For Children in Manassas is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant 1 for a full-time, day shift role that floats between the Manassas, Herndon, and Sterling clinics. The position supports clinicians with patient care, specimen collection, and exam preparation, while helping manage patient flow and clerical tasks.

Required education is a High School Diploma or GED, with prior medical group practice experience preferred and Basic Life Support (BLS) within 6 months of hire.

• Previous experience in a medical group practice preferred.
• BLS certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs general patient care responsibilities including checking schedules and organizing patient flow; recording vital signs and assisting with examinations.
• Assists with phlebotomy, injections, and basic patient handling as directed by clinicians.
• Maintains patient records, schedules, and referrals; ensures proper charting and information is available for encounters.
• Cleans and prepares exam/procedure rooms, maintains sterile technique, and supports safety and quality initiatives.
