Job summary

Inova Primary Care in Fairfax is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant 1 for a full-time day shift (Monday–Friday) to join our team. The role includes patient check-ins, vital signs, specimen collection, injections, phlebotomy, and assisting clinicians.

We value teamwork and patient-centered care. Education required is a High School Diploma or GED; BLS certification must be completed within 6 months of hire. Previous medical group experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: Previous experience in a medical group practice or similar setting.
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Check schedules and manage patient flow; record vital signs (BP, height, weight).
• Assist patients to exam rooms; help with procedures, injections, phlebotomy.
• Prepare charts and patient records; relay instructions to patients/families.
• Scan records, obtain labs/imaging reports, and organize documents.
• Maintain sterile technique and environment; restock rooms and dispose of supplies.
• Support quality improvement and participate in team huddles.
