Job summary

Oak Street Health is hiring a Medical Assistant - Float to support multiple centers. The MA will gather medical information, support providers, and assist in screenings and routine testing to ensure informed clinical decisions.

Qualifications

• State or national certification required or graduation from an accredited medical assistant program.
• 1 year experience as a medical assistant.
• CPR or BLS certification.
• Electronic Medical Record experience.
• Computer skills: Gmail, Google Docs, Excel and related tools.
• Proficiency in non-English languages as required by the center's demographics.
• US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient patient flow: room patients, record vital signs, complete screenings and medication reviews.
• Inventory supplies and stock exam rooms.
• Respond to patient requests for telephonic support (lab results, records).
• Administer vaccinations and point-of-care tests per state regulations (A1C, spirometry, EKGs, blood draws).
• Import documents into EMR via scanning or PDF upload.
• Participate in care team meetings to discuss patient care and clinic operations.
• Process orders for durable medical equipment and request records from external providers.
• Conduct routine quality control checks including infection control measures and center lab maintenance.
