Job summary

Oak Street Health in Mobile seeks a Medical Assistant - Float to gather patient information so providers have accurate data for care decisions. MAs report to the Practice Manager and join a care team, requiring flexibility, energy, attention to detail and the ability to build relationships with members.

Responsibilities include patient flow, vitals, screenings, vaccinations, EMR data entry and coordinating with external providers.

Qualifications

• State or national certification, or graduation from an accredited medical assistant course.
• 1 year experience as a medical assistant.
• CPR or BLS Certification.
• Electronic Medical Record experience.
• Computer skills: Gmail, MS Word or Google Docs, Excel or Google Sheets.
• Proficiency in non-English languages as required by the center's demographics.
• US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Ensure an efficient patient flow; room patients in a timely manner and complete vital signs and screenings.
• Inventory supplies and stock exam rooms.
• Respond to patient requests for telephonic support and coordinate records.
• Administer vaccinations and point-of-care tests as permitted by state regulations.
• Import documents into EMR and participate in care team meetings.
• Process orders for durable medical equipment and request medical records as needed.
