Job description

Float Management - Credit Investment Analyst

New York Metropolitan Area (mostly in-office, hybrid)

About Float Management ("Float")

Float was formed by David Moradi in 2024 to pursue a novel investment strategy: buying corporate revolvers. These are assets that are unloved by most investors, but we like them at the right price. We aspire to be the leading investment firm in the revolver space, providing value to our investors, partners and employees. We hope to build a firm that lasts for decades and establish a culture that prizes honesty, integrity, teamwork and innovation.

Float is the manager of Float Revolver Fund I, LP, which has long-term committed capital from multiple family offices and was established in partnership with Hazoor Partners, a registered investment advisor affiliated with a Texas-based family office.

Position Summary

Float is now hiring its first investment professional to work alongside the Founder/Chief Investment Officer (CIO) conducting research and analysis on unique revolving credit investment opportunities. We are seeking someone who has strong knowledge of credit investing strategies and leveraged loan markets and who will enjoy being a foundational team member in an early-stage firm.

The investment analyst will play a critical role and have a unique vantage point on building a compelling investment strategy at scale. As an early team member, this role will have a hand in a wide variety of business activities that support building and growing the firm.

Foundational team members will have the opportunity to participate in a meaningful incentive program that aligns individual growth with the firm’s success. This position will be conducted mostly in office at our location in Midtown with some flexibility for occasional remote work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Founder/CIO in all aspects of the management and growth of the business.
  • Work directly with the CIO on the day-to-day management of the primary investment strategy.
  • Participate in sourcing, evaluation, analysis, and diligence of investment opportunities.
  • Represent the firm, participate in conferences and investor meetings, and maintain industry relationships with the utmost professionalism.
  • Contribute positively toward building a resilient culture of mutual respect and peak performance.
  • Conduct ongoing research and cultivate subject matter expertise of current macroeconomic factors, market fluctuations, legislative changes, and regulatory requirements that impact the credit investment landscape.
  • Prepare quarterly investment performance analysis and daily risk management dashboards.
  • Support the CIO on ad hoc projects.
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in finance, business, or another highly analytical and quantitative field; an MBA degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience analyzing credit investment opportunities, including experience with leveraged loans.
  • A self-starter who can thrive in a small, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Advanced Excel, Bloomberg and financial modeling capabilities.
  • Curious, intellectual, and open-minded.
  • Ownership mindset; showing care for doing things the right way and comfort with being ultimately responsible for outcomes.
  • Detail-oriented; naturally adept and skillfully trained toward precision and accuracy.
  • Dependable; strong sense of urgency and follow through, results oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills that instill confidence and credibility and allow for authentic, warm relationships built on trust and respect.

We value diversity and commit to making hiring decisions based upon the skills, character traits and capabilities that correlate to being successful in this job without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law. We are an equal opportunity employer and we welcome your application!

All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
