Job summary

New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS) is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to float across Bronx and Washington Heights locations in NY. The role involves EMR updates, medication reconciliation, patient education, and assisting physicians with exams and procedures.

The ideal candidate holds a NYS LPN license with BLS certification and strong communication skills. Spanish-speaking is preferred, and reliable transport to NYCBS sites is required.

Qualifications

• Current NYS LPN license required.
• BLS certification required.
• Spanish-speaking preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Update and maintain the EMR with up-to-date vital signs, demographics, medication reconciliation, allergies and diagnoses.
• Manage Physician inbox messages and prioritize tasks in the EMR.
• Assist in maintaining medical inventory and stock supplies for staff.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and provide patient education on medications and home care.
• Assist physicians with exams and procedures; prepare injections and collect specimens.
• Perform phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, and EKGs; document results accurately.
