STARTING WAGE: $18.02+ per hour (based on experience)

This position is full time, 7am - 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, year round. It is benefit-eligible and offers paid time off and vacation.

Purpose of Position

The purpose of this position is to clean and maintain school classrooms, halls, and other areas as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean classrooms, halls, locker rooms, bathrooms, and other areas as assigned
• Replenish supplies in paper and soap dispensers
• Dust furniture; clean and polish fixtures
• Clean windows
• Remove trash and refuse
• Assist in preparing areas for meetings and activities
• Perform minor repairs and routine maintenance to buildings and equipment
• Perform seasonal jobs including snow removal
• Unarm security systems and secure the building
• Other duties as assigned by the Environmental Services Manager

Minimum Training and Experience

High school diploma with 5 to 11 months custodial experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.

Physical and Mental Abilities

Physical Requirements

• Operate custodial equipment (vacuum, floor buffer, etc.)
• Lift and maneuver objects up to 50 pounds
• Current physical on file certifying ability to meet job qualifications
• Arrive at least 15 minutes early to unarm security system if applicable

Mathematical Ability

Add, subtract, multiply, divide, calculate decimals and percentages.

Language and Communication

• Interpret and prepare various documents (work orders, logs, manuals, SDS, etc.)
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with diverse groups
• Use basic technology (email, word processing, spreadsheets)

Environmental Adaptability

Work effectively outdoors under various conditions.
