Job summary

Harbor Health is seeking a Float PRN Certified Medical Assistant to support Austin clinical operations on an as-needed basis. In this role, you will provide essential clinical and administrative support across our healthcare teams, ensuring smooth clinic operations and member experiences.

This flexible position offers schedule variety within our payvider model. The role requires CMA certification or eligibility, 3+ years in primary care, CPR, and strong EHR data-entry skills.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or equivalent.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or ability to renew/apply for certification.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in primary care or similar clinical environment.
• Current CPR Certification.
• Computer proficiency with the ability to enter information in EHR systems and compile reports or data as requested.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Excellent customer service and support skills; ability to organize and prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
• Effective and professional communication — verbal and written — with persons from diverse backgrounds.
• Consistent demonstration of positive, proactive customer service and ethical behavior.
• Ability to work effectively as a team member while functioning independently with sound judgment.
• Flexibility to shift priorities, maintain confidentiality, and establish effective interpersonal work relationships.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the clinical team to execute care tasks as ordered by providers.
• Deliver care in accordance with each member's individualized care plan.
• Perform client intake, collect lab specimens, and administer immunizations.
• Chart accurately in electronic medical records (EHR).
• Assist with minor procedures and other supportive functions for the clinical team.
• Complete opening and closing tasks each day to prepare for daily clinic operations.
• Support the care team to ensure members' needs are met and hand-offs are appropriately conducted.
