Job summary

Johns Hopkins University is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to float between ambulatory practice areas at Green Spring Station. The CMA performs direct patient care, vital signs, exam preparation, and supports clinic operations under physician supervision.

Ideal candidates have CMA certification, completion of an accredited MA program, CPR, and EPIC experience; willingness to float across clinics and learn processes is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required
• Completion of accredited Medical Assistant training program required (e.g. through Medix, community colleges, vocational schools)
• Certification/Registration as Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, AMT, NAHP) required; must convert if not certified within 180 days

Responsibilities

• Collects patient information at intake and records vital signs in EPIC
• Assists patients in exam rooms and prepares for examinations
• Transfers patients using proper body mechanics and safety measures
• Performs chart review prior to clinic visits to obtain historical data
• Assists practitioners with procedures, supplies, and equipment
• Maintains aseptic technique and infection control practices
• Obtains and handles clinic lab specimens per EPIC process
• Monitors and reports equipment issues and maintains inventory
