Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Float Certified Medical Assistant to provide versatile clinical and administrative support across departments, ensuring seamless patient care and operational efficiency in our facilities.

You will triage patients, assist providers with examinations and procedures, record vital signs, collect specimens, and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment while adapting to diverse settings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CMA certification or other recognized medical assisting credentials preferred at hire.
• Experience or training with electronic health record (EHR) systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Triages patients and assists providers with examinations and procedures.
• Obtains and records vital signs and patient information accurately.
• Maintains clean, organized clinical environments across settings.
• Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.
• Collects blood samples and prepares specimens for lab analysis when needed.
• Administers medications or vaccines as ordered, per protocol.

As a Float Certified Medical Assistant, you will provide versatile clinical and administrative support across various departments, ensuring seamless patient care and operational efficiency throughout our facilities.

As a Float Certified Medical Assistant, you will provide versatile clinical and administrative support across various departments, ensuring seamless patient care and operational efficiency throughout our facilities. Every day you will expertly triage patients, assist providers with examinations and procedures, manage patient records digitally, and meticulously maintain a clean and organized clinical environment, adapting seamlessly to diverse settings. To be successful, you will demonstrate outstanding adaptability, strong clinical skills, and a proactive, patient-centered demeanor, contributing significantly to optimal patient flow and high-quality care wherever assigned.

• Provide for patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights.


• Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures.


• Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.


• Obtain and record vital signs including but not limited to, blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications and presenting problem.


• May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.


• Administer ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topically, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration.

Job Requirements

Required

• High School Graduate or

• May require specialized training, such as Non-Certified Radiologic Technician.


• Certified Medical Assistant AAMA, upon hire or

• National Registered/Certified Medical Assistant NAHP, upon hire or

• Cert Med Asst - MMCI, upon hire and


• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days

Preferred

• Completion of a Certified Medical Assistant course or Exam


• Two (2) years Medical Assistant experience
