Job summary

CommonSpirit Health, serving in Southeast Tennessee and North Georgia, seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to support the Family Medicine team in Ooltewah. You will assist with screenings, procedures, education, and coordination of care, while maintaining patient comfort and clear communication.

Responsibilities include obtaining vitals, assisting with procedures, drawing blood, and administering medications per orders.

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • Specialized training may be required, such as Non-Certified Radiologic Technician.
  • CMA/CCMA/NCCT/NHA/AMT/NATI/AMT certification upon hire or.
  • Basic Life Support - CPR within 30 days.

Responsibilities

  • Provide for patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights.
  • Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
  • Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.
  • Obtain and record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications.
  • May draw and collect blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Administer medications and vaccines via various routes as ordered.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) at CommonSpirit Medical Group - Family Medicine - Ooltewah, you will be a vital pillar of our care team, significantly impacting patient well-being through direct support and seamless coordination.

Every day, you will actively collaborate on comprehensive screenings, assist with clinical procedures, provide essential health education, and expertly manage administrative tasks, leveraging technology to coordinate care for diverse patient populations. You will ensure patients feel at ease, patiently explaining instructions and addressing their concerns.

To be successful in this role, you will possess strong clinical knowledge, technological fluency, genuine compassion for patient well-being, and an adaptable spirit keen on continuous learning and collaborative teamwork.

Job Requirements
Required
  • High School Graduate or
  • High School GED and
  • May require specialized training, such as Non-Certified Radiologic Technician.
  • Certified Medical Assistant AAMA, upon hire or
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, upon hire or
  • Certified Medical Assistant NHA, upon hire or
  • National Certified Medical Assistant NCCT, upon hire or
  • National Registered/Certified Medical Assistant NAHP, upon hire or
  • Registered Medical Assistant AMT, upon hire or
  • Registered Medical Assistant, upon hire or
  • Cert Med Asst - MMCI, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days
Preferred
  • Completion of a Certified Medical Assistant course or Exam
  • Two (2) years Medical Assistant experience
  • Electronic health record experience
