Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support our care team and coordinate comprehensive patient care. The role emphasizes direct patient care, education, and efficient administrative coordination using healthcare technology.

The CMA will assist with screenings, clinical procedures, health education, and coordination of care while maintaining compassionate patient interactions and a collaborative team mindset.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required at hire.
• CMA certification from one of the listed certifying bodies required at hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform general patient care following established standards and procedures.
• Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.
• Record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, allergies, medications, and presenting problem.
• Draw blood samples and prepare specimens for lab analysis if required.
• Administer medications and vaccines by various routes as directed.
• May perform routine tests such as EKGs.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Certified CMA / CMA-AAMA / CMA-NHA / NCCT / AMT / NAHP / AMT / MMCI etc.

Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR

As a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), you will be a vital pillar of our care team, significantly impacting patient well-being through direct support and seamless coordination.

Every day, you will actively collaborate on comprehensive screenings, assist with clinical procedures, provide essential health education, and expertly manage administrative tasks, leveraging technology to coordinate care for diverse patient populations. You will ensure patients feel at ease, patiently explaining instructions and addressing their concerns.

To be successful in this role, you will possess strong clinical knowledge, technological fluency, genuine compassion for patient well-being, and an adaptable spirit keen on continuous learning and collaborative teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
• Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.
• Obtain and record vital signs including but not limited to, blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications and presenting problem.
• May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Administer ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topically, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration.
• May perform routine tests including but not limited to EKG’s.

• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days

Preferred
