Job summary

Askari Defense is seeking a hands-on flight test operations specialist to build, repair, and fly real systems in demanding test environments. You will own the full lifecycle of the target fleet—from selection and build to flight, maintenance, and readiness—for interceptor testing across multirotor, eVTOL, and fixed‑wing UAS.

You will work with the autonomy, data, and test teams, secure ranges and airspace, capture clean telemetry, and keep campaigns safe and on schedule.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building and repairing multirotor and/or fixed-wing UAS.
• Demonstrated piloting skill including manual FPV, line-of-sight, and autonomous planning.
• Proficiency with flight controllers, ESCs, motors, batteries, RF/telemetry, and soldering/wiring.
• Safety-first mindset with strict adherence to flight, range, and shop safety protocols.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for fast-paced field-test conditions.
• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate is required.
• Willingness to support live-fire/interception test environments.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
• History of identifying operations issues and improving processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and fly aircraft for interceptor testing across multirotor, eVTOL, and fixed-wing UAS.
• Own fleet lifecycle from selection and build through maintenance and readiness.
• Configure flight controllers, radios, GPS, and autopilot systems for mission profiles.
• Log configurations, flight data, and test results to support planning.
• Support relationships with ranges, bases, and airspace to keep testing compliant and safe.
• Coordinate logistics and ensure field areas stay organized and safe.
