Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace is seeking a Flight Test - Manufacturing Engineer III for the Weekend Shift in Savannah, GA. The role focuses on lean manufacturing initiatives, cycle-time reduction, and cost/quality improvements in flight test operations.

The candidate will develop layouts, tooling, and process flows, lead cross-functional teams, and communicate complex technical topics to non-technical audiences while leveraging SAP, Solumina II, CATIA v5, and other engineering systems.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent
• 4 years in manufacturing engineering, planning or related technical field
• Knowledge of Lean and Six-Sigma principles and processes
• Experience with manufacturing layouts, process flows and toolings
• Ability to convey technical topics to non-technical audiences

Responsibilities

• Lead technical studies and prepare recommendations for equipment and methods
• Create detailed work instructions to optimize manufacturing efficiency
• Develop MBOMs in SAP/Solumina and ensure proper part installation
• Generate make-or-buy proposals and evaluate vendors
• Apply statistical methods to forecast manufacturing requirements
• Lead Lean Six-Sigma projects across multiple orgs
• Oversee project execution and mentor subordinates
