Job summary

Valkyrie Enterprises in Huntsville, AL seeks a Range Safety & Flight Termination Engineer to support MDA targets and countermeasures engineering. You will lead safety analyses, verify FTS requirements, and guide flight termination testing across launch and reentry vehicles.

Active Secret clearance and willingness to travel for deployments are required. The role demands extensive DoD program experience and hands-on flight test expertise within a national security context.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree with 12+ years missile defense or DoD program experience, or Bachelor's with 20+ years.
• Proven background in flight termination and ordnance systems.
• Experience with in-flight safety analysis products and relevant standards.
• Experience with range tracking architectures and travel for deployments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Range Safety expert during flight tests, working groups, and testing.
• Oversee requirements development, allocation and verification for target FTS products.
• Conduct surveillance across FTS hardware/software development and testing.
• Author technical reports detailing status, findings, and recommendations.
• Represent government stakeholders in design reviews and forums.
