Loft Federal in Colorado is seeking a Flight Software Engineer to connect spacecraft hardware with the platform, enabling successful missions in orbit. You will own software features end-to-end, write tests, and collaborate across teams in a fast-paced space environment.

Required: 3+ years in C/C++ and Python, Git, CI, and build systems. Leadership experience is a plus; go-to languages include Go or Rust as nice-to-haves. The role offers strong benefits and relocation support where applicable.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ software engineering experience with C/C++ (C++11+) and Python.
• Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Experience with CI tools (GitLab-CI, Jenkins).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and refine software with a high degree of ownership, driving features from concept through delivery.
• Review code, provide feedback, and enforce development standards to maintain quality.
• Design and implement unit and integration tests for self and peer code.
• Utilize version control to create feature branches, push code, and merge into production.
• Contribute to onboard software architecture through design proposals and reviews.
• Participate in review and improvement of software development processes and standards.
• Coordinate with downstream teams on distribution of latest releases.
