Job summary

Axiom Space is seeking a Flight Software Engineer to design and develop embedded flight software for space stations. You will deploy to hardware-in-the-loop testbeds and work closely with propulsion, life support, GN&C, data links, and power teams to ensure robust real-time software delivery.

The role is onsite in Webster, TX, requiring a strong background in C/C++, Rust, Python on Linux/RTOS, and experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerization.

Qualifications

• BS in a technical STEM field or related discipline.
• 5+ years of embedded software experience in C/C++, Rust, Python on Linux/RTOS.
• Experience with git and CI/CD workflows.
• Familiarity with spaceflight or safety-critical systems preferred.
• Experience with containerization on Linux and network protocols.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test embedded flight software for space vehicles.
• Integrate software with hardware-in-the-loop testbeds and simulations.
• Collaborate with propulsion, ECLSS, GN&C, networks, power, and other subsystems.
• Participate in design/code reviews and CI/CD initiatives.
• Support milestones such as PDR/CDR/SDR and test plans.
• Assist with hardware simulation and fault injection integration.
• Drive timely delivery under ambiguous, fast-moving conditions.
