Job summary

Axiom Space is seeking a mid-level embedded software engineer to join the Avionics team, designing, developing, and maintaining firmware for ground support equipment and space suit avionics. You will work hands-on with MSP430 and STM32 families, integrating with hardware interfaces and collaborating across disciplines.

You will apply C/C++ and Python in Linux environments, with an emphasis on real-time constraints, reliability, and secure software practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s in a related engineering field.
• 3+ years of embedded systems experience.
• Experience with UART, SPI, I2C, USB, Ethernet, RS232/RS485.
• Familiarity with real-time constraints and deterministic execution.
• Hardware bring-up and debugging tools experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate, and maintain firmware in the Avionics group.
• Design interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, USB, Ethernet.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers for board bring-up and debug.
• Participate in software architecture design and code reviews.
• Develop hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) systems and contribute to verification.
