Job summary

Craig Technologies seeks an Embedded Software / Flight Software Engineer to join our team in Merritt Island, FL (and Houston, TX). You will architect, implement, and verify core flight software powering satellites in cislunar and lunar orbits, delivering high-reliability, deterministic code for real-time operations and autonomous fault recovery.

The role requires strong C/C++ skills, bare-metal/RTOS/embedded Linux experience, and hardware/software integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, physics, or related engineering field plus relevant embedded flight systems experience.
• 5–10 years of experience writing high-reliability C/C++ in bare-metal/RTOS/embedded Linux environments.
• Experience with hardware/software integration, debugging with test equipment, and familiar with serial/network protocols.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and maintain embedded flight software features, drivers, and system improvements.
• Analyze I/O timing and data throughput on integrated hardware/software architectures.
• Coordinate software-to-avionics integration and board bring-up activities.
• Draft automated unit, integration, and regression tests to validate flight logic against constraints.
• Coordinate high-level functional testing on HWIL setups and simulators.
• Implement autonomous FDIR routines for fault recovery in radiation environments.
