Job summary

Craig Technologies seeks an Embedded Software / Flight Software Engineer to design, implement, and verify core flight software powering satellites in cislunar and lunar orbits. You will develop high-reliability, real-time code, manage onboard data, and enable autonomous fault recovery.

Collaborating with hardware engineers, you will drive integration, write automated tests, and participate in HWIL and simulator validation to ensure rigorous performance and safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE/physics or related field with 5–10 years embedded flight experience.
• Extensive experience with C/C++ in bare-metal, RTOS, or embedded Linux environments.
• Proven hardware/software integration and debugging using test equipment.
• Knowledge of RS-232/422/485 and IP-based protocols.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and maintain embedded flight software features and drivers.
• Analyze I/O timing and data throughput on embedded systems.
• Coordinate software-to-avionics integration and board bring-up.
• Draft automated unit, integration, and regression tests for flight logic.
• Coordinate functional testing on HWIL setups and simulators.
• Implement autonomous FDIR routines for radiation-induced faults.
