Fruition Group US is partnering with an exciting commercial space company to recruit a Flight Software Engineer in Los Angeles. The role focuses on embedded flight software for spacecraft, real-time control, and full lifecycle development.

You will work across architecture, development, testing, and flight readiness, integrating with avionics, GNC, and propulsion teams while contributing to mission operations and ground software. Equity + benefits included.

Qualifications

• Experience developing embedded or real-time software.
• Strong C/C++ skills; Python a plus.
• Experience with telemetry, commanding or ground software.
• Background in spacecraft, satellites, launch vehicles, robotics, aerospace, or other safety-critical systems.
• Familiarity with HIL/SIL testing and automated testing environments.
• Ability to work across the full software lifecycle, from design through deployment.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded flight software for spacecraft and flight computers.
• Build mission operations and ground software for telemetry, commanding, and real-time monitoring.
• Support Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing.
• Integrate software with avionics, sensors, and control systems.
• Develop testing frameworks, simulation environments, and software development workflows.
• Collaborate closely with avionics, GNC, propulsion, and systems engineering teams.

I'm currently partnering with an exciting company in the commercial space sector that's developing the next generation of autonomous spacecraft and looking to add a talented Flight Software Engineer to their engineering team.

Salary Range: $180,000–$260,000 + equity + benefits

This is an opportunity to work on mission-critical spacecraft systems and contribute across the full flight software lifecycle — from architecture and development through testing and flight readiness.

You’ll be working on:

• Developing embedded flight software for spacecraft and flight computers
• Building mission operations and ground software for telemetry, commanding, and real-time monitoring
• Supporting Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing
• Integrating software with avionics, sensors, and control systems
• Developing testing frameworks, simulation environments, and software development workflows
• Collaborating closely with avionics, GNC, propulsion, and systems engineering teams
