Job summary

Delta Air Lines, Inc. is seeking a Flight Simulator Technician to perform maintenance on Full Flight Simulators, Flight Training Devices and related equipment to ensure high reliability and fidelity for pilot training.

The role involves troubleshooting a wide range of systems, installing and servicing complex displays, and conducting FAA-related checks. The position requires hands-on ability with electronic test equipment, reading schematics, and knowledge of aircraft systems.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret electronic/electrical drawings, schematics, and logic diagrams.
  • Experience operating electronic test equipment to identify and correct malfunctions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair electronic circuits, computers, networks, visuals, hydraulics, pneumatics, and instrumentation.
  • Formal technical electronic training or equivalent military training; previous simulator maintenance preferred.
  • Knowledge of aerodynamics and cockpit instrumentation relative to flight.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot electronics, computers, networks, hydraulics, visuals, pneumatics, and mechanics to the component level.
  • Install, replace, clean, repair, and service equipment including display systems and circuit boards.
  • Operate and maintain PCs and various host computers and networks.
  • Perform periodic maintenance and diagnostics on computers and peripherals.
  • Conduct pre-flight readiness and FAA certification checks.
  • Archive software as required.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of aircraft systems and operations.
  • Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all tasks.

How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

The Flight Simulator Technician is responsible for performing maintenancefunctions on Full Flight Simulators, Flight Training Devices, Cockpit ProcedureTrainers, and associated support devices to assure high levels of reliabilityand fidelity and meet pilot training, maintenance training, and FAA regulatoryrequirements.

Summary ofresponsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks):
  • Corrects identified discrepancies by troubleshooting electronics,computers, computer networks, hydraulics, visual, pneumatics, and mechanicalsystems to component level.

  • Installs, replaces, cleans, repairs, and services various equipmentincluding visual generation/display systems, computers, computer networks,motion systems, electronic circuit boards, and circuits to componentlevel.

  • Operates, programs, and maintains PC, Motorola, IBM, and various otherhost and satellite computers and networks.

  • Performs periodic maintenance and diagnostics on computer and peripheralequipment.

  • Operates and maintains electronic test equipment.

  • Accomplishes pre-flight, morning readiness, and FAA certificationchecks.

  • Accomplishes software archiving functions.

  • Maintains a thorough knowledge of Aircraft systems and their operation.

  • Practices safety conscious behaviors in all processes and procedures.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
  • Requires the ability to read and interpret electronic/electricaldrawings, schematics, and logic diagrams and be able to troubleshoot circuitsto component level.

  • Requires experience in operation of electronic test equipment in orderto identify and correct malfunctioning systems.

  • Requires the ability to troubleshoot and repair electronic circuits,computers, computer networks, visual generation/display systems, hydraulicsystems, input/output systems, pneumatics, mechanical, and flightinstrumentation.

  • Formal technical electronic training or equivalent military training andprevious simulator maintenance experience is required.

  • Requires a working knowledge of aerodynamics and of commercial cockpitinstrumentation and their relationship to the principles of flight.

  • Requires the physical ability to climb and work from platforms andladders and lift 50 lbs.

  • Required to furnish personal tools as prescribed by Delta.

  • Embraces a diverse set of people,thinking and styles.

  • Possesses a high school diploma,GED, or high school equivalency.

  • Is at least 18 years of age and hasauthorization to work in the United States.

  • Consistentlyprioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data

Generalknowledge of AIX, UNIX, LINUX, and Windows operating systems and of FORTRAN andC/C++ programing languages is preferred.

Starting pay: $48.21 per hour
