Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking an Air Detention Officer to join its security team on charter aircraft services. You will ensure safety and security for noncitizens and crew, manage restraints, checks, and documentation while supporting embarkation and de‑embarkation operations.

This role requires lifting ability, long shifts, travel readiness, and strict adherence to procedures. A State Security Officer certification and bilingual Spanish are preferred; willingness to work nights, weekends, and

Qualifications

• Must be a United States citizen residing in the U.S. and able to obtain visas and inoculations required for travel.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid U.S. passport.
• Experience as a corrections/detention officer or law enforcement or security guard within the last year.
• Must be certified as a Security Officer in the state where work is performed.
• Must be physically capable of lifting 50 lbs and writing detailed reports.
• Must report to work on time and endure long irregular shifts.
• Bilingual Spanish is preferred.
• Willingness to travel with frequent overnight stays.
• Must pass background investigations and required trainings.
• Ability to use computers and department software.

Responsibilities

• The Air Detention Officer serves as part of a security crew for charter aircraft services.
• Ensure general security and safety of noncitizens and crew on board the aircraft.
• Maintain security checklists and checkpoints during the shift.
• Load and unload noncitizens and property; escort to restrooms and apply/remove restraints as needed.
• Identify proper documentation and search for contraband on board.
• Provide embarkation/debarkation security at Ports of Call and assist with perimeter security.
• Respond to emergencies, alarm sounds, and incidents while protecting life and property.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
