Job summary

The GEO Group is seeking an Air Detention Officer to join our security team on charter aircraft services. You will help ensure the safety of noncitizens and crew, follow procedures, and maintain security checklists.

Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, 21 years or older, with a valid passport and the ability to travel. Certification as a Security Officer and the ability to lift 50 lbs are required; long shifts and overnight travel may be necessary.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen residing in the U.S.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must possess a valid U.S. passport.
• At least 1 year of full-time corrections/detention, law enforcement, or security experience.
• Must be certified as a Security Officer in the performing state.
• Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs.
• Must write detailed reports/forms.
• Punctual and reliable with scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload noncitizens on/off aircraft and search for contraband.
• Apply and remove restraints as applicable.
• Identify proper documentation.
• Search aircraft for contraband and assist with cabin cleanup.
• Load/unload property and assist with perimeter security.
• Maintain checklists and checkpoints during shifts.
• Ensure post is secured and protected until relieved.
• Report violations of orders and emergencies.
• Ensure embarkation/debarkation security at Ports of Call.
