Job summary

Bombardier Transportation GmbH in Wichita seeks a Section Chief - Flight Sciences to lead the Flight Test Engineering team and drive safety-critical flight tests. You will supervise engineers, mentor staff, and coordinate cross-functionally to ensure compliance with FAA/Transport Canada standards.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in engineering, 10+ years aerospace experience, and strong leadership with excellent communication. Occasional travel and weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline is required.
• Minimum ten years of aerospace experience is required.
• Experience in a flight test engineering organization is required.
• Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.
• Ability to prioritize and manage large data sets and coordinate across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of Flight Science Engineers within the Flight Test Engineering group.
• Coaching, mentoring and development; manage performance reviews.
• Recruitment, onboarding and training of new team members.
• Manage priority communications to support daily operations.
• Develop and govern policies for safe, effective flight tests and compliance with regulations.
• Plan, readiness, execution and reporting of test activities, including documentation and KPI monitoring.
