Job summary

Bombardier Transportation GmbH in Wichita, KS, is seeking an aerospace/avio craft engineer to join the Flight Sciences team. You will analyze ground and flight test data, perform desktop simulations, and provide timely results to support snag resolutions and post-flight reviews.

Candidates should have 2+ years in aviation engineering, familiarity with flight dynamics, and programming skills in Python/MATLAB/C/C++. A US citizenship or permanent resident status is required.

Qualifications

• You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, or a related engineering field.
• You have at least 2 years of experience in engineering within the aviation industry.
• You are familiar with aircraft flight dynamics, aircraft performance, and fluid dynamics.
• You have a basic knowledge of aircraft systems, takeoff/landing, and mission performance.
• You understand FAA & EASA Part 25 certification requirements.
• You possess good programming skills in Python, VBA, MATLAB, C#, C++, or FORTRAN; Windows/UNIX knowledge is a plus.
• You can work both independently and in a team with good written and oral communication.
• US citizen or permanent resident status is required.

Responsibilities

• Be a member of the Flight Sciences team at Bombardier Flight Test Center specializing in Aircraft Performance.
• Perform analysis of ground and flight test data including desktop simulation.
• Provide timely analysis of predicted results, post flight data analysis, support snag resolution, generate problem reports, and perform data reviews.
• Use engineering judgment to select methods, techniques and tools for resolving complex issues.
• Provide technical support to Flight Operations during briefs, telemetry, and Safety of Flight reviews.
• Create flight test reports demonstrating compliance with TC/FAA/EASA certification regulations.
• Support Bombardier projects through Test Readiness Reviews.
