Job summary

Astranis seeks a Software Engineer - Vehicle Test to design the software architecture used to validate hardware at the vehicle level and support HITL testbed infrastructure for flight validation. You will ensure flight-ready software, coordinate with engineering teams, and help grow the test platform in a fast-paced space environment.

You will refine specs, develop ground and flight software integrations, and contribute to ongoing test campaigns while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in CS or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• 3+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python or similar high-level language.
• Experience designing software systems and test architectures/tooling.
• Experience with Linux and shell command line tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design high-level software architecture for vehicle integration and test operations.
• Coordinate across teams to build testing infrastructure and tooling.
• Integrate flight software into test infrastructure with ground software teams.
• Create reusable test code for multiple campaigns and vehicle generations.
• Refine specifications from electrical engineers to validate flight components.
• Support development from proposal through to final test and flight.
