Job summary

Astranis Space Technologies seeks a Hardware Test Engineer to join the Software team in Northern California. You will design software architecture to support vehicle integration and test operations, develop ground control and telemetry software, and drive automated testing at component and system levels.

Key responsibilities include refining specifications with electrical engineers, writing drivers for test equipment, and aiding recruitment as the team grows in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or EE or equivalent.
• 2–5+ years in embedded systems or hardware development/testing.
• 3+ years of Python experience.
• 1+ year Linux and shell tools experience.
• 1+ year experience with version control systems (git, mercurial, svn).
• Strong hands-on design, fast-paced work, and communication skills.
• Experience reading schematics and data sheets; debugging with oscilloscope/logic analyzer.

Responsibilities

• Design high-level software architecture to support vehicle integration and test operations.
• Write drivers for ground support equipment; work with test instruments.
• Develop software for automated testing at component and integrated levels.
• Refine specifications from electrical engineers to validate flight components.
• Support development phases from proposal to test and flight; assist in recruitment.
