Job summary

Astranis Space Technologies in Northern California is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design end‑to‑end software architecture for vehicle integration and testing. You will validate hardware with HITL testbeds and collaborate with multiple teams to ensure flight readiness.

You will refine specifications from hardware engineers, develop scalable test code, and help drive major test campaigns while recruiting and mentoring new engineers in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong Python proficiency and Linux experience.
• Experience designing software systems and test architectures/tooling/frameworks.
• Experience with Linux and shell command line tools.
• Hands-on, fast-paced development mindset and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design high-level software architecture in support of vehicle integration and test operations.
• Coordinate across teams to build testing infrastructure for testing and production needs.
• Work with ground and flight software teams to integrate software into test infrastructure.
• Design scalable test code reusable across campaigns and generations.
• Refine specifications to validate critical flight components; support all development phases.
• Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring additional teammates; participate in on-call rotation.
