Job summary

SET Development seeks a Spacecraft Solar Array Engineer to lead design, development, qualification and in-orbit performance optimization of spacecraft PV systems from concept through end‑of‑life. The role requires collaborating with structures, avionics, manufacturing and supply chain teams, plus hands-on lab experience and flight program exposure; U.S.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
  • 5+ years of experience in spacecraft solar arrays, spacecraft power systems, or space-rated photovoltaic hardware.
  • Demonstrated experience in at least one: solar array design/sizing, power system modeling, or space hardware qualification and testing.
  • U.S. citizenship required (export-controlled work).

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and architecture of spacecraft solar array systems, including cell tech selection and panel layout.
  • Develop power budgets and orbital energy balance models across eclipse cycles and degradation scenarios.
  • Produce ICDs, design specs, and technical documentation; support rapid prototyping and integration.
  • Define and execute qualification and acceptance tests; analyze results and drive improvements.
