Job summary

Air Evac Lifeteam in Salem, MO is seeking a Flight Paramedic to join our air-transport team. You will provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital ALS care from first contact through handoff, perform base checks, and maintain meticulous patient care documentation during dispatched flights.

This role requires EMS leadership, flight duties, pre-mission briefs, liftoff checklists, and ongoing licensure maintenance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a 911 or critical care setting.
• Current EMT-P license/certification in the states served by the assigned area.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, trauma certification required prior to flight status.
• Flight Paramedic-Certified (FP-C) within 24 months from date of hire.
• NREMT-P certification may be required in assigned area.

Responsibilities

• Complete and submit electronic patient care records for each dispatched flight within the required time.
• Perform daily base checks, including narcotic count.
• Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital ALS care from first contact to handoff to the receiving facility.
• Maintain competency through ongoing lab and clinical experiences.
• Document licensure, certifications, continuing education, safety, and procedures in education manual.
• Be knowledgeable in equipment use and routine maintenance for emergency programs.
• Maintain positive relationships with colleagues, EMS personnel, hospitals and the public.
• Serve as a medical flight team member and participate in briefings and debriefings.
• Assist in pre-mission liftoff checklists and pilot support as needed (radio, navigation, observation).
• Adhere to safety standards for self, crew, patient and equipment prior to liftoff.
• Conduct aircraft safety briefings as required.
• Fill open or vacant shifts within the assigned area as directed by Regional Director.
