Job summary

Intermountain Health seeks a Flight Paramedic with strong critical care background to provide autonomous, high-level medical care during air and ground transport. Responsibilities include stabilizing patients, airway/cardiac care, and documentation in dynamic settings.

Requirements include state and NR Paramedic certification, ALS/BLS/PALS, and NRP within 120 days. Expect orientation groups mid-Jan and mid-April, with a 42.12 weekly hour schedule and a pay range of $29.43–$45.39 per hour.

Qualifications

• State-certified Paramedic and National Registry Paramedic with no restrictions.
• Grace period of up to three months to obtain certification where required.
• ALS, BLS, PALS, and trauma care are required.
• NRP within 120 days of hire.
• At least three years of ALS or critical care transport experience.
• FP-C or CCP-C certification within two years of hire.
• Advanced trauma certifications within one year where required.
• Strong critical thinking and autonomous decision-making in emergencies.
• Team communication and safety practices in transport.
• Leadership and mentorship abilities for team training.

Responsibilities

• Provides advanced life support and stabilizes patients during air and ground transport.
• Assesses and stabilizes critically ill or injured patients using autonomous decision-making.
• Performs pre-hospital, interfacility, and in-transport life support with airway & cardiac care.
• Maintains equipment and documents patient care accurately for transport.
• Collaborates with healthcare teams and families to ensure continuity of care.
• Adheres to safety protocols for air medical transport and altitude-related care.
• Pursues FP-C or CCP-C certification and ongoing professional development.
