Job summary

Rural Metro Fire Department in Duncan, OK is hiring a Flight Paramedic to operate with our air transport team, delivering advanced life support on regional flights and scene calls. You will perform pre-hospital and interfacility care, document care thoroughly, and work with a professional crew committed to safety.

Candidates must have EMS experience, EMT-P license, BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP, and FP-C within 24 months. NREMT-P may be required in some areas.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a 911 or critical care setting required.
• Current EMT-P license/certification in the states served by the assigned area required.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, trauma certification required prior to flight status.
• Flight Paramedic-Certified (FP-C), required within 24 months from date of hire.
• NREMT-P certification may be required in assigned area.

Responsibilities

• Complete and submit electronic patient care records for each dispatched flight within the required time frame.
• Perform daily base checks, including narcotic count.
• Provide pre-hospital and intra-hospital ALS care from first contact to handoff.
• Maintain competency through ongoing labs and clinical experiences.
• Document licensure, certifications, CE, safety, and procedures in the Education Manual.
• Maintain knowledge of equipment and supplies used by EMS programs.
• Foster positive relationships with colleagues, EMS, hospitals, and the public.
• Act as a medical flight team member and participate in briefings/debriefings.
• Assist in liftoff checklists and pilot assistance as needed (radio, navigation, observation).
• Adhere to safety standards to ensure crew and patient safety prior to liftoff.
